Samsung, which has its eyes set on the tablet market, is planning on a 7 inch tablet which would kick Google Nexus 7 for the price. According to the report in DigiTimes, the 7 inch tablet would compete against the Asus produced tablet and could cost $149 to $199 whereas the Nexus 7 sells at $199.
Given the low price, the specs may be compromised upon, like the Nexus 7 we can expect at most a dual core processor 1 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory. Also Samsung may follow Google Nexus 7 and release a Wi-Fi only model followed by a more expensive 3G version.
In the meanwhile, Samsung, which has been working on a number of tablets recently, has already confirmed the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The Note 8 would be a direct contest against the recent 7.9 inch Apple iPad mini. The Galaxy Note 8 is said to be priced in the $249 - $299 range and is ready to make an appearance at the upcoming Mobile World Congress next month.
We have already seen the specifications of the Galaxy Note 8.0 leak and you can catch them here.
