Huawei has announced its second generation MateBook at the MWC 2018 event and it looks like it competes with the Apple MacBooks. The Huawei MateBook X Pro is a 13.9-inch Windows 10 laptop with 3K LTPS FullView touch display and ultra-thin design powered by the Intel’s 8th generation Core-i processors with dedicated graphics inside.
The Huawei MateBook X Pro weighing 1.33 kg features a metallic unibody with a bezel-less display, the screen is a 13.9-inch with least bezels and boasts a resolution of 3,000 x 2,000 pixels. The display is a 10-point touch with anti-fingerprint coating and a 178-degree viewing angle.
Talking about the specifications, the MateBook X Pro is powered by 8th generation Intel Core i7-8550U or Core i5-8250U processor depending on the variant. Graphics are handled by a dedicated Nvidia GeForce MX150 2 GB GDDR5 VRAM or Intel UHD Graphics 620.
It comes in two RAM and storage variants – 8 GB or 16 GB RAM variants with 256 GB SSD or 512 GB SSD respectively. The base model starts from Core i5 with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD. Furthermore, it features quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, 1 MP webcam, 2x USB type-C ports, and 1x USB type-A port V3.0. It is backed up by a 57.4 Wh Li-Po battery that charges with a 65 W adapter.
The Core i7, 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD which is the top variant, is priced at 1,899 Euros (~$2,335 or ~₹1,51,000) while the 8 GB RAM with 512 GB SSD variant is available for 1,699 Euros (~$2,090 or ~₹1,35,100). The base variant with Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, and 256 GB SSD is priced at 1,499 Euros (~$1,843 or ~₹1,19,200).
Huawei MateBook X Pro laptop comes in Mystic Silver and Space Grey colors. The notebook will be available from Q2 2018 in selected countries – USA, China, Spain, Germany, Italy, Nordic, and Saudi Arabia.
