China is soon going to reach 900 million mobile phone users which is the highest number of users all over the world. By the end of March the number was 889 million and is said to reach 900 million in the month of May. The statistics were given by the Government and a report by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that in March 2009, the number of users were 670 million and 776 million in March 2010.
India on the other hand is not that far behind. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India says that the country had 687 million mobile users in September 2010, and it rose to 791 million by the end of February 2011.

The numbers are surely rising and soon both China and India are going to reach the milestone of 1 billion mobile phone users.
