With the increasing concern of safety for women, iBall has announced the launch of the iBall Andi Uddaan, which is touted to be India’s First Safety Phone.
The iBall Andi Uddaan is the first smartphone with a dedicated SOS button on the back, pressing which would set off an alarm. The phone also automatically makes calls and sends text messages to five pre-defined emergency contacts informing about the situation along with the exact geographical location. The same message is also posted as an update on the users Facebook account.
The iBall Andi Uddaan has a 5 inch display and is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual core processor. The device is equipped with a rear facing 8 MP auto focus camera with dual LED flash and a front facing 5 MP camera. The smartphone runs on the Android Jelly Bean with 2000 mAh battery.
The iBall Andi Uddaan also has an “In Case of Emergency” app which allows users to enter vital information such as blood group, medical history, and details of people to contact in case of emergency. Using the GPS tracking system in the phone, the location of the user can be viewed in real time or at pre-defined intervals.
The iBall Andi Uddaan, though priced at Rs. 10990, is available at an introductory price of Rs. 8999. The handset comes bundled with a flip cover, an additional back cover, a little pink purse, a scratch guard and other accessories worth Rs. 1199.
