While Philips has been treading cautiously in the smartphone industry, the company seems to be ready with a new smartphone – the Philips S398.
The Philips S398, which is the company’s upcoming affordable smartphone, is now listed online on the company’s official page in India. The device has a 5 inch IPS display with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core MediaTek processor with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage.
The Philips S398 has an 8 MP rear facing auto focus camera with LED flash. There is also a front facing 2 MP camera. The device runs on the latest Android KitKat version with a 2040 mAh battery. While there is no confirmation from the company, we can expect the handset to be launched early next year with the pricing in the Rs. 8000 range.
