The tablet market may have stagnated a bit, but Samsung is determined to keep it going. A new tablet with model number SM-T385 has appeared on GFXBench allowing us a peek at its hardware. Since the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is numbered SM T-350, it wouldn’t be a surprise if this is the next generation of the device.
The scan on GFXBench suggests the 8.0-inch slate is powered by a Snapdragon 435 SoC chip. It is equipped with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. Since we expect it to be a sequel to last year’s Tab A 8.0, this one also has an 8.0-inch screen with HD resolution. Apparently, Samsung seems to be carrying on with its old-tablets-new-names strategy. Well, at least they’ve bumped up RAM.
Anyways, the tablet comes fitted with an 8-megapixel camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. At least the tablet can boast of Android Nougat 7.0 version. Only this much is known regarding specs. The tablet will be a mid-range device stepping in the shoes of last year’s Galaxy Tab An 8.0. No official date for launch is known although it might make it to the IFA 2017 where Samsung is also speculated to unveil the Galaxy Note 8.
