Nokia N8 now in India

nokia-n8-india-launchNokia today launched its latest and much anticipated smartphone, the Nokia N8, with Ovi services in India.  The first of a series of devices powered by Symbian^3, the latest edition Symbian OS.

Speaking at the unveiling, D. Shivakumar, Vice President and Managing Director, Nokia India said, “The consumer is in the centre of all that we do at Nokia and we are constantly innovating to enhance user experience and address user feedback. The N8, our latest smartphone, sets a new milestone for Nokia in growth and innovation with the new Symbian ^3 platform that delivers our best smartphone experience required by the ever demanding consumer today. It is the first in a new generation of Nokia devices; devices that are faster, more intuitive and fun to use.

The Nokia N8 supports multitasking, allowing users to run multiple apps simultaneously and switch between them easily. It is equipped with 12 MP Camera with Carl Zeiss optics. You can edit photos and videos on-screen and choose from multiple ways to share them; transfer large files to an external hard-drive with the new USB-on-the-go (which allows you to connect to any USB device through a simple cable) or upload photos to social networks.

Doubling as a portable entertainment center, people can enjoy HD quality video with Dolby Digital Plus surround sound by plugging the device into their home theatre system. The Nokia N8 enables access to Web TV services that deliver programs, news and entertainment from international as well as Indian channels. Social networking is second nature to the Nokia N8. People can update their status, share location and photos, and view live feeds from Facebook and Twitter in a single app directly on the home screen.  All this is delivered in a robust aluminum body in five new vibrant colours with a real-glass 3.5” AMOLED display.

The Nokia N8 will be available across the country from October 13, 2010, starting with Nokia Priority Stores, at an MRP of Rs. 26,259. Consumers can also avail the Nokia N8 on an Easy EMI scheme, paying for the device in three equal monthly installments (EMI) at zero percent interest.
