LG has been awarded a Guinness Record for their Optimus 2X smart phone, as it has a dual-core processor. Offcourse there are many smart phones carrying a dual core processor today, but the LG Optimus 2X is the first dual-core processor smart phone that was made available to the general public.

The Guinness Record certification says “The first mobile phone to use a dual core processor is the LG Optimus 2X, which was first made available to the public nationwide in South Korea, on 25 January 2011.”

The smart phone however isn’t fully available all over the world, countries like the US still have to see the face of the Optimus 2x.
