While Motorola had some visibly disappointing sales of the Moto X, the company has announced the low budget version of the device – the Moto G.
The Moto G is actually a midrange smartphone which is would be offered at very low pricing. The device body which is made of polycarbonate body derives its design from the Moto X, especially the curved back which makes it easier to hold the device. Also the back panel can be swapped with a different colored panel from a range of seven colors which include white, black, dark blue, light blue, yellow, red, and pink.
The Moto G has a decent 4.5 inch display which is protected by the Gorilla glass 3. The display has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels which offer a very high density of 329 ppi. The device is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 processor along with 1 GB of RAM and 8 or 16 GB of internal storage. Despite the low internal memory, there is no support for external memory card.
The Moto G is equipped with a 5 MP rear facing camera with an LED flash besides a front facing 1.3 MP camera. The device comes loaded with the Android v4.3, which would be upgraded to Android v4.4 early next year. The 8 GB version of the device is priced at just $179 and the 16 GB version is priced at $199.
