Apple rolls out iOS 5 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad

ios-5After numerous beta releases, Apple has finally released the official iOS 5 for all apple devices including the iPhone, the iPod touch and the iPad. The release is said to be out worldwide and users around the globe should be able to update their devices right away. The iTunes software was also updated to 10.5 which will be required if you are planning to update your Apple device.
The highlights of the iOS 5 include:
  • iCloud
  • Siri Audio Assistant
  • Wire-free synching
  • Multitasking gestures for the iPad 2
  • Notifications center
  • Lock Screen notifications
The iOS 5 update will be supported on the following Apple devices:
  • iPhone 3GS
  • iPhone 4
  • iPhone 4S
  • iPod Touch 3G
  • iPod Touch 4G
  • iPad
  • iPad 2
