Sony has just unveiled a couple of new additions to their phablet portfolio with the Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia T2 Ultra Dual. As you would have understood by now, the only difference between these devices is that the T2 Ultra Dual features dual-SIM functionality.

The Xperia T2 Ultra comes with a huge 6-inch 720p display and is 7.6 mm thin. It is powered by a 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 1 GB RAM. There’s 8 GB of internal storage and expandable memory upto 32 GB.

On the camera front, it has a 13 MP camera with an Exmor RS for mobile sensor which is the best in class, well that’s what Sony claims it to be. There’s a 1.1 MP front facing camera with an Exmor R sensor. The connectivity is pretty well covered for a mid-range device with the Xperia T2 Ultra boasting of NFC and LTE connectivity. The 3000 mAh battery runs the show.

The Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia T2 Ultra Dual will come to the global markets starting with China, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East and Africa. The Xperia T2 Dual should make it to the emerging markets but we have no confirmation yet. There’s no mention of the price yet but Sony says it will come at a “mid-range price point”. We’ll let you know if we get more details.
