Yesterday, BlackBerry announced its tie up with Amazon to bring the Amazon App Store to BlackBerry 10 devices. Along with that, the company also announced that it will be shutting down its music and video services next month.

BlackBerry music video shutting

To be more specific, BlackBerry will shut down the music and video sections from its BlackBerry World on July 21. The struggling company introduced the music and video sections with the launch of BlackBerry 10 last year and as with every other offering from the company, they haven’t been received too well.

Although the music and video sections are shutting down, BlackBerry World will still offer those sections in the form of third party alternatives. Users who’ve downloaded content from BlackBerry’s music and video stores will be able to keep the content through MyWorld after the shut down. The company previously shut down its BBM Music service in June.
