Sony has been bringing two flagships a year and keeping in mind that plan, we can expect the Sony Xperia Z3 flagship to be unveiled later this year. As per rumors, the Sony Xperia Z3 is set to be launched in September at IFA but there’s one more flagship that is coming, the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact was the best “mini” device, it had all the high end specifications of the Z1 in a compact body and we can expect the same from the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. Today, we have alleged specifications of the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, thanks to the XDA developer DoomLoRD, who has been pretty reliable when it comes to Sony related leaks.
He revealed the specifications of the Xperia Z3 Compact in a tweet and he has also posted a screenshot of the “about” screen of the device. According to him, the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact with the model number D580x will feature a 4.5-inch HD (1280x720p) display. It’ll be powered by a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 320 GPU coupled with 2 GB RAM. It is also said to be coming with a 20.7 MP primary camera and a 2.1 MP front-facing camera. The screenshot also shows Android 4.4.2 running on the device.
If we go by Sony’s habit of launching a flagship every 6 months, we should get the Z3 by August but as we mentioned, rumors suggest a September launch for the Z3 and Z3 Compact. Either ways, we should know more soon and as always, we’ll let you know as well.
