HTC Desire 616 featuring a 5-inch HD display, Octa-core processor, Dual SIM launched in India

HTC has launched the mid-range Desire 616 today in India along with the One E8. The company seems to have learnt from previous mistakes and has finally got the pricing right for the new devices.

The HTC Desire 616 was launched in China earlier this month and today, the smartphone has arrived in India. The Desire 616 features a 5-inch HD (1280x720p) display and it’s powered by 1.4 GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor with 1 GB RAM for your multitasking needs, There’s 4 GB of internal storage with microSD expansion.

On the camera front, the device packs in an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and a front-facing 2 MP camera. There’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean in tow with Sense 5.1, which is a shame considering Android 4.4 KitKat has been here for quite a while now. HTC has equipped the device with a 2000 mAh battery.

The HTC Desire 616 features Dual SIM connectivity with 3G support and the usual other connectivity options. The device will go on sale in India starting next week and it’s priced at Rs. 16,900.
