There have been several rumours suggesting that HTC would be soon launching their first Android smartphone powered by a 64 bit processor. Now the company itself has confirmed the rumours.

HTC-Desire-820-teaser

HTC has revealed that it is working on the HTC Desire 820, which is the successor of the Desire 816. The company is slated to announce the handset at the upcoming IFA 2014 event scheduled on September 4. The company also confirmed that the handset would flaunt the octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, which has a 64 bit architecture.

The teaser image has a smartphone with a design strikingly similar to the Desire 816. However other than that no other details are available. Being the first smartphone to run on the 64 bit SoC, the handset is already seeming exciting. We have to wait for just a few more days before we see it for real.
