The new Samsung Galaxy On series smartphones is launched debuting with the both Samsung Galaxy On5 and Samsung Galaxy On7 this Diwali season 2015 in a ₹10,000 price range. As we’ve received both the devices, we will be showing you a hands-on review with the Samsung Galaxy On7. You can take a look at the Galaxy On5 hands-on here.

Samsung Galaxy On7 Specifications:

  • Android 5.1.1 Lollipop
  • 5.5-inch TFT display
  • 1280 x 720 pixels resolution
  • 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor
  • 1.5 GB RAM
  • 8 GB internal storage, 128 GB expandable using MicroSD
  • 13 MP back camera
  • 5 MP front facing camera
  • 4G LTE, Dual-SIM support (GSM)
  • 3000 mAh battery
  • 172 grams weight
  • 151.8 mm x 77.5 mm x 8.2 mm

The smartphone features a 5.5-inch TFT HD display, which is bigger than its younger sibling Galaxy On5 (5-inch). Samsung didn’t boast a home-grown Exynos SoC in this device yet used a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 quad-core 1.2 GHz processor. The 1.5 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage aren’t upgraded and kept the same as what we have seen in the Galaxy On5. However, the camera is refreshed to 13 MP on the back and 5 MP on the front side. As the phone is made of plastic materials, the body appears to solidly build.

The design seems to be quite old. The back uses a faux leather plastic same from the Galaxy On5, but slightly larger in size. The 3000 mAh battery is removable. The back camera 13 MP with LED flash. The single speaker is located at the back along with a dull Samsung logo.

There are a couple of sensors on the front as well as a 5 MP front camera that captures 1080p videos. The navigation buttons do not light up and vibrate just like the Galaxy On5.

The Galaxy On7 comes with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Samsung may give marshmallow updates in the future, but we aren’t sure about it. On the first use, the phone doesn’t seem to be lagging on the performance side, the animation transitions were smooth while switching and multi-tasking with apps.
