Cyanogen reportedly working with Indian handset makers to launch new smartphones in 2016

Given the response Cyanogen has been receiving in India, the company is planning massive expansion strategies in 2016.

According to sources, Cyanogen is said to be partnering with mobile handset maker in India to launch Cyanogen powered smartphones in the country. The company is said to be in advanced talks with as many as six manufacturers, which include home-grown and international vendors, to use their OS for the upcoming handsets.

Cyanogen had entered India with an exclusive partnership with Micromax’s YU brand and has so far launched four smartphones, including the latest flagship YU Yutopia. Cyanogen is also working on integrating new platforms such as machine learning and is said to release new features over the next 12 – 18 months. The first announcement in this regard are expected at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2016.
