Android Gingerbread still rules, ICS now on 1% of Android devices

Google has released the Android distribution chart for the past two weeks, which shows us the standing of different versions of Android OS running on all Android running devices out there. As compared to last month, Android Ice Cream Sandwich now runs on 0.4% more devices bringing the total percentage to 1% of all devices. This includes Android 4.0, 4.0.2 and 4.0.3.

Android Honeycomb (Android 3.x) now runs on 3.4% of all Android devices which is a just a 0.1% increase as compared to the previous month. On the other hand Android Gingerbread (Android 2.3 to Android 2.3.7) is going on strong and is running on a total of 58.6% of the Android device as compared to the previous 55.5% last month.

 
Android Froyo (Android 2.2) has seen a fall of 3 percent from 30.4% last month to 27.8% this time around. And the Android Eclair is still alive, seeing a fall of about 1 percent from last month’s 8.5% to 7.6% this month.
