Last week Motorola announced the Moto Z and Moto Z Force, and, the Moto Z Play is expected to be announced soon. With this, you might think that the Moto X line is a part of history now. But no, Moto X series is not going anywhere. The same was confirmed by Motorola during the Moto Z announcement, and, a listing on GFXBench reveals specifications of what might be the Moto X (2016).

This Motorola smartphone is listed as Motorola XT1662 on GFXBench and might possibly be the Moto X for this year. According to the listing, it’s powered by a Helio P10 SoC which is coupled with 3 GB RAM and Mali-T860 GPU. Going by today’s standards, it’s a relatively smaller device having a 4.6-inch Full-HD display.

The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and has 32 GB of internal storage. It comes equipped with a 16 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera. Other usual features are GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi. However, NFC is missing from this device. But again, these are not official specs, so it’s good to wait for official information before making any comment.

One more Motorola device was spotted back in April which was listed as Motorola XT1650 on Geekbench. It was powered by a Snapdragon 820 SoC and had 4 GB RAM. It might be possible that Motorola might actually have two different variants of the Moto X (2016), one powered by Helio P10 and the other one with Snapdragon 820. However, it’s too early to assume anything. A TENAA listing might just clear the air though. What do you think?
