Apple recently unveiled its latest generation iPhones, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. While Apple did talk about the features on both the phones, it didn’t say much about some specifications like battery and RAM. Even the official website of Apple doesn’t give much information about these specs. However, if a Geekbench listing is anything to go by, we might see the iPhone 7 Plus come with 3 GB RAM.

Someone in possession of an iPhone 7 Plus seems to have taken it for a ride on Geekbench. It’s oddly listed as iPhone9,4 and is running iOS 10.0.1. The device is also listed with  3 GB RAM (2998 MB to be precise) and scored 3233 and 5363 points in Geekbench’s single and multi-core tests.

What’s interesting is that while the iPhone 7 Plus comes with A10 Fusion quad-core processor, Geekbench only shows two processors. Well, two cores of the A10 chip are meant for less intensive tasks whereas the other two cores are meant for high performance tasks. It’s possible that those two high performance cores kicked in during Geekbench test and hence only those were detected and listed.

The fact that the iPhone 7 Plus might come with 3 GB RAM is further confirmed by its TENAA listing where it’s listed with 3 GB RAM and 2900 mAh battery. If this turns out to be true, the iPhone 7 Plus will be the first iPhone to sport 3 GB RAM, which is also the largest amount of RAM seen on iPhone. Those who use Android devices won’t have much to say as Android smartphones already come with 4/6 GB of RAM.
