Aircel launches National Mobile Number Portability

With all the major telecom providers rolling out National Mobile Number Portability in India.

Aircel has announced the launch of the National Mobile Number Portability service in India. The launch comes on line with the Government’s mandate to roll-out the service from July 3. With the service, users can now shift from one state to the other without having to change their existing mobile numbers.

To avail the National Mobile Number Portability, customers need to present a Unique Porting Code (UPC) – easily generated by sending an SMS to the advised short code from any location to the preferred Aircel Retail Outlet. The process would be then be initiated.
