Amazon has launched the new Fire TV Stick 4K (2026) along with a redesigned Fire TV Remote, bringing a slimmer hardware design, faster performance and additional customization options to its streaming device lineup. The new streaming stick runs on Vega OS, supports 4K streaming, and comes with Alexa+.
Amazon is also simplifying its Fire TV Stick lineup into three main tiers, with the new Fire TV Stick 4K positioned as the standard 4K model. The company has also announced the upcoming Fire TV Remote Plus, which is scheduled to arrive in early 2027.
Slimmer Design | 1.7 GHz CPU | Wi-Fi 6 | Vega OS
The new Fire TV Stick 4K has a slimmer stick design and can be powered directly through a compatible TV’s USB port using the included cable, eliminating the need for a separate wall adapter in supported setups.
Amazon says the new model is designed to deliver faster streaming performance, with apps opening more than 35% faster and playback starting nearly 20% sooner compared with the previous generation.
The device supports video output of up to 4K resolution at 60 fps and supports HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, H.265, H.264, VP9, and AV1 video formats. The Fire TV Stick 4K (2026) is equipped with a quad-core 1.7 GHz processor and 8 GB of internal storage.
For wireless connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 6, along with Bluetooth 5.3 and Bluetooth Low Energy. Amazon’s official documentation also confirms Wi-Fi 6 support for the new Fire TV Stick 4K.
The device runs Vega OS, Amazon’s operating system used across its newer Fire TV Stick hardware. Amazon says the platform has gained more than 2,000 additional apps, including Spotify, Xbox and VLC, alongside major streaming services such as Netflix, YouTube, Disney+ and Prime Video.
Redesigned Fire TV Remote Gets Customizable Button
The new Fire TV Stick 4K comes bundled with a redesigned Fire TV Remote. Amazon has reshaped the remote and changed the tactile feel and layout of its controls to make frequently used buttons easier to locate without looking at the remote.
A new customizable star button lets users assign an app or certain settings to the button. Supported actions include features such as closed captions and Screen Magnifier.
The remote retains dedicated power, volume and mute controls for compatible TVs, soundbars and AV receivers.
Amazon says the new Fire TV Remote is compatible with its Fire TV streaming devices launched from 2019 onwards, while its compatibility documentation lists support for multiple Fire TV models and Amazon Ember TVs.
Fire TV Remote Plus Coming in 2027
Amazon is also preparing the Fire TV Remote Plus, which is expected to launch in early 2027 and will replace the Alexa Voice Remote Pro.
The upcoming remote will feature an aluminum body, backlit buttons and a built-in Find My Remote feature. Users will be able to trigger a sound through a compatible Alexa device, the Alexa app or the Remote Finder option in the Fire TV mobile app to locate the remote.
Amazon has not yet announced the price of the Fire TV Remote Plus.
Amazon Streamlines Fire TV Stick Lineup
Amazon is reorganizing its Fire TV Stick range around three primary models.
The Fire TV Stick HD remains the entry-level option, while the new Fire TV Stick 4K becomes the standard 4K model. Above it, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max adds features such as additional storage, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and Alexa+ Home Theatre support.
The Fire TV Cube remains Amazon’s higher-end streaming device, offering hands-free Alexa+ and additional voice-control features.
Existing Fire TV models will continue to be sold while supplies last.
