The latest streaming device introduces hardware upgrades, a slimmer design, faster performance, and Xbox cloud gaming support for the first time on Amazon’s HD streaming lineup. The new model is designed to improve streaming performance, navigation speed, portability, and smart home integration while offering broader entertainment and gaming capabilities.
Faster Performance & Improved Connectivity
Amazon says the new Fire TV Stick HD delivers over 30% faster performance compared to its predecessor. The upgrade is expected to improve app launch speeds, boot times, and navigation responsiveness. Streaming and connectivity features include:

- HDR10+ support
- Wi-Fi 6 connectivity
- Bluetooth 5.3 support
According to Amazon, Wi-Fi 6 helps maintain more stable streaming performance, even on slower or congested networks.
Redesigned Compact Form Factor
The physical design of the Fire TV Stick HD has also been updated. Amazon says the device is approximately 30% slimmer than other Fire TV models. The streaming stick can now draw power directly from a TV’s USB port, eliminating the need for a separate wall adapter. This allows the device to remain hidden behind televisions while improving portability for travel and compact setups.
Redesigned Fire TV Interface
The Fire TV Stick HD ships with Amazon’s redesigned Fire TV interface, focused on easier content discovery, simplified navigation, and smart home access.
New interface highlights:

- Faster navigation system
- Personalized recommendations
Smart Home Controls with Alexa
The updated interface also integrates Alexa-compatible smart home controls. Users can manage connected devices such as Air conditioners, Lights, and Fans directly from the Fire TV interface. The package also includes an Alexa Voice Remote for voice-based search and navigation.

The Fire TV Stick HD supports access to major streaming platforms, including:

Amazon also highlighted support for the updated Fire TV mobile app, which allows users to manage watchlists, cast content remotely, and control playback from smartphones.
Xbox Cloud Gaming Arrives on Fire TV HD Devices
One of the biggest additions is support for Xbox Cloud Gaming. For the first time on an HD Fire TV Stick, users can download the Xbox app, stream cloud-enabled games directly on TVs, and play without a traditional gaming console.
