The shopping event witnessed faster deliveries, record participation from small and medium businesses (SMBs), increasing demand for premium products, and significant growth from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, highlighting the continued expansion of e-commerce adoption beyond major metropolitan markets.

According to Amazon, this year’s Prime Day saw its strongest growth in new Prime memberships coming from cities including Hoshiarpur, Ujjain, and Dharwad, while shoppers across the country increasingly opted for premium electronics, home appliances, beauty products, and smart home devices.

One of the major highlights of Prime Day 2026 was Amazon’s logistics performance. The company said same-day deliveries increased more than three times compared to the previous Prime Day, with one in every four orders delivered on the same day. Additionally, more than half of all customer orders were delivered before the shopping event concluded, making it Amazon India’s fastest Prime Day delivery performance to date.

Amazon also reported changing shopping habits through Amazon Now, where nearly half of all orders consisted of non-grocery products, including cameras, grooming devices, and personal care appliances. Prime members continued to receive free delivery on eligible orders above ₹99, along with cashback offers and zero delivery fees on supported purchases.

The event also reflected a growing shift toward premium products across multiple categories. Premium beauty products, including skincare, fragrances, makeup, and haircare, recorded 3X year-over-year growth, while premium grooming appliances priced above ₹2,500 doubled their sales compared to last year. In the home entertainment category, televisions priced above ₹35,000, particularly 65-inch and larger models, witnessed 2X year-over-year growth.

Amazon noted that aspirational shopping is no longer limited to metro cities. Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets continued driving premium purchases across several categories. The two-wheeler category grew 1.65X year-over-year, while premium motorcycles priced above ₹1.5 lakh from brands including Harley-Davidson, KTM, Triumph, and Royal Enfield registered 2.3X growth. Notably, 70% of buyers for Harley-Davidson, KTM, and Triumph motorcycles came from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Premium international home and kitchen brands also recorded 4.5X year-over-year growth across smaller cities.

Demand for AI-powered and connected devices also increased during the sale. Amazon said one in every five Windows laptops sold during Prime Day was an AI PC. Smart home products, including robotic vacuum cleaners, coffee machines, and ice makers, grew 4.3X year-over-year, while smart water purifiers recorded 2X customer growth. Dreame India also reported that sales of its robotic vacuum lineup increased by more than 200% year-over-year during the event.

Flexible payment options continued to play a major role in higher-value purchases. According to Amazon, nearly half of shoppers used Amazon Pay, while one in every four purchases across smartphones, televisions, and large appliances was made using EMI options. Around 80% of EMI transactions were completed through No Cost EMI, while purchases using Amazon Pay Later increased by more than 2.5X year-over-year.

Amazon Business also registered strong growth during the event, with new customer registrations increasing 3.6X and Prime registrations growing 10X. Bulk business purchases expanded nearly 7X, led by commercial demand for laptops, televisions, and headphones.

The company added that Prime Day 2026 recorded its highest-ever participation from small and medium businesses, with a record number of sellers crossing ₹10 lakh in sales during the event. More than two-thirds of these SMB sellers were based in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, reflecting the growing contribution of regional businesses to Amazon India’s marketplace.

Alongside shopping, Prime Video also recorded strong engagement during the event. Amazon said the Prime Original series Raakh became the platform’s biggest Prime Original debut in the past two years, remaining the most-watched non-English series globally for three consecutive weeks while streaming across 198 countries and territories. Overall, Indian-language Prime Day releases attracted viewers from more than 207 countries and territories.

Akshay Sahi, Vice President – Prime & Customer Fulfilment Experience, India and Emerging Countries, Amazon said, “We love helping our customers save big, and Prime Day is the ultimate celebration of value, fast deliveries, great deals, new launches and blockbuster entertainment that the Prime membership provides. And the 10th edition of Prime Day is a milestone we’re proud to celebrate with our sellers, partners and millions of customers across the country. This was our fastest Prime Day ever, where in cities with Amazon Now, one in two items on deal were delivered in just minutes. We also saw the highest-ever participation of small and medium businesses, reaffirming that Prime Day is as much a celebration for our sellers as it is for our customers.”
