boltt has announced its “3 + 4 Software Commitment” for the newly launched Boltt Ace 5G and Boltt Evo smartphones ahead of their first sale on September 1. The commitment outlines the company’s software upgrade and security support plans for both devices.
3 Major Android Upgrades
Under the new policy, both the boltt Ace 5G and boltt Evo will receive three major Android OS upgrades. This is intended to keep the smartphones updated with newer Android features and improvements over their supported lifecycle.
4 Years of Security Updates
The smartphones will receive four years of security updates, with the support period calculated from the official product launch date.
boltt says security patches will be delivered at least once every quarter, while additional critical updates will be released outside the regular schedule when required to address high-priority security vulnerabilities.
Key Provisions of the 3+4 Commitment
- 3 Major Android OS Upgrades: Three major Android version updates
- 4 Years of Security Support: Security updates for four years from the official launch date
- Quarterly Security Updates: Scheduled security maintenance at least once every quarter
- Critical Security Patches: Additional patches when urgent vulnerabilities require immediate attention
boltt notes that specific update schedules remain subject to chipset platform support, Google certification, technical compatibility, and other technical dependencies.

The boltt Ace 5G and Boltt Evo 4G are scheduled to go on sale exclusively through Flipkart from 1st September 2026 at 12:00 PM.
