Users can now summarize webpages, ask questions about online content, connect Gemini with Google apps, and generate or customize images using Nano Banana without switching between tabs.
The expansion also brings Auto Browse to eligible subscribers, allowing Gemini to handle multi-step tasks on the web, including product research, travel planning, restaurant reservations, appointments, and online orders.

Gemini in Chrome | Webpage Summaries & Google Apps
Gemini in Chrome can analyze the webpage currently open in Chrome and provide information without requiring users to leave the browser.
Users can ask Gemini to:
- Summarize long webpages and articles
- Answer questions about webpage content
- Connect with Google apps, including Calendar and Keep
- Generate and customize images using Nano Banana
Gemini can be accessed by tapping the Gemini icon or opening the three-dot menu in the top bar on an Android device.
Auto Browse | Multi-Step Web Tasks
Google is also offering Auto Browse capabilities to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers on Android in the U.S.
The feature allows users to give Gemini more complex instructions that require multiple actions across websites. Gemini can consider the user’s preferences, instructions, and previously shared details while completing these tasks.
Auto Browse can help with:
- Comparing products, finding deals, and adding items to a cart
- Searching for and booking travel accommodations
- Making restaurant reservations and scheduling appointments
- Booking parking for events
- Updating recurring online orders
- Organizing travel plans
Security & User Confirmation
Google says Gemini’s models are trained to identify known threats such as prompt injection. Auto Browse is also designed to request user confirmation before carrying out certain sensitive actions.
Availability
Gemini in Chrome is now available to all Android users in the U.S. Auto Browse is currently limited to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers on Android in the U.S.
