With cab services becoming very popular in India, Google has now added support for popular cabs in the Maps app.
Google has announced the addition of a dedicated tab with information for cab services in its Maps app. The feature, which would be presented to the user on searching for directions, will be in addition to the existing driving, public transport, or walking options. The feature aims making commuting in cities simpler.
The Maps app would also allow the user to choose from Uber or Ola cab services. Further, if the service providers app is also installed, users can see fare estimates and pick up times and if a car is available nearby. The feature is currently available to Android users only but will be soon rolled out to iOS users as well.
