Recently HTC sent out invites for an upcoming event named Double Exposure. While we were curious as to what the company has in store for us, the first details have slowly started emerging.

According to sources, HTC plans to release a new smartphone codenamed HTC Eye, which is apparently touted to be the ultimate selfie phone. The device, besides having a brilliant camera, is now said to sport a 5.2 inch full HD display with pixel density of 423 ppi. The smartphone is expected to be powered by the quad core Snapdragon 801 processor with the Adreno 330 GPU.

As for now, these are the only details available with regards to the HTC Eye and unfortunately we could get no information about the camera. Sources also claim that besides this handset, HTC also would be showcasing a 16 MP tube-shaped camera with wide-angle lens, just like the GoPro. The camera can apparently be connected to the Android devices using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
