motorola has launched the motorola edge 70 Pro+ in India, expanding its premium edge series lineup with a smartphone that focuses on photography, AI-powered experiences, performance, and durability. Positioned as a flagship all-rounder for 2026, the device combines a high-refresh-rate curved AMOLED display, a versatile triple-camera system, MediaTek’s latest Dimensity platform, and a large silicon-carbon battery packed into a slim and lightweight design.
The motorola edge 70 Pro+ introduces the company’s latest Collections by Motorola design language, developed in collaboration with the Pantone Color Institute. The smartphone is available in three distinctive finishes: PANTONE Stormy Sea, PANTONE Zinfandel, and PANTONE Chicory Coffee, featuring twill-inspired, satin-luxe, and FSC-certified wood-inspired textures, respectively.
Despite housing a large battery, the smartphone measures as little as 7.19 mm in thickness and weighs just 190 grams. Motorola has also focused heavily on durability, equipping the device with IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance ratings, alongside MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification. The handset has been tested against temperature extremes, humidity, dust, accidental drops, and high-pressure water exposure.
On the front, the device features a 6.8-inch Super HD+ 1.5K Extreme AMOLED display with a 144 Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color depth (1.07B colors), and up to 5,200 nits peak brightness. The quad-curved panel offers a 96.8% screen-to-body ratio and is both Pantone Validated and Pantone SkinTone Validated for improved color accuracy. Protection is provided by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, while Smart Water Touch technology allows accurate touch response even with wet fingers.
Photography is one of the key highlights of the edge 70 Pro+. Motorola has equipped the smartphone with a versatile 50 MP triple-camera system, headlined by a Sony LYTIA 710 primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization. The setup is complemented by a 50 MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus and macro functionality, as well as a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera offering 3.5x optical zoom, OIS support, and up to 50x AI Super Zoom Pro.
The front houses a 50 MP autofocus selfie camera, enabling high-resolution selfies and video calls. Motorola has also integrated its latest motoAI imaging system, designed to optimize low-light photography, texture reproduction, and dynamic range.
For videography, the smartphone supports 4K 60 fps video recording across all cameras, along with Video HDR support. Additional video features include Horizon Lock, Adaptive Stabilization, and Frame Match, helping creators capture smoother and more professional-looking footage. Users also gain access to Google Photos AI editing tools such as Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, and Photo Unblur.
Powering the smartphone is the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme SoC. Motorola claims the chipset delivers over 2.4 million points on AnTuTu, while offering up to a 40% graphics performance improvement over the previous generation. The processor is paired with 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB UFS 4.1 storage. To maintain stable performance during gaming and intensive workloads, Motorola has integrated a large 4,600 mm² vapor chamber cooling system, which the company says improves thermal efficiency by 18%.
The smartphone packs a 6500 mAh silicon-carbon battery, which Motorola claims can deliver up to 51 hours of mixed usage on a single charge. Charging is handled by 90W TurboPower wired charging, capable of providing up to 12 hours of usage in approximately 9 minutes. The device also supports 15W wireless charging.
The edge 70 Pro+ ships with Hello UI based on Android 16 and comes with Motorola’s latest motoAI 2.0 suite. Features include Next Move, Sketch to Image, Catch Me Up 2.0, and Recall, while users can choose between multiple AI assistants including motoAI, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity. Security is handled through Moto Secure 5.0 backed by ThinkShield protection.
Motorola is also bundling Moto Premium Care, offering 24/7 WhatsApp support, complimentary pickup-and-drop service, and access to a standby device during repairs.
