Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on Google
While it’s nothing new to see Samsung devices being shipped to India for testing purposes, this time around a mysterious Nokia device was spotted.
According to a listing on a logistic tracking site, an unknown Nokia device with model number RM-977 has been imported into India from Finland for inter-company testing and evaluation. Early investigation reveal that the device has a screen size of 4.5 inches and has single SIM support. At the time of shipping, the phone was valued at Rs. 7966.
Given the pricing, the Nokia RM-977 appears to be a very entry level smartphone. Our best guess at the moment would be that the device is a Lumia smartphone running on Windows Phone platform. With the success that Nokia has seen in India with its Lumia 520, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get another entry level smartphone into the market.
