OnePlus India has announced the third edition of its #MakeItSpecial festive campaign for Diwali 2026, focusing on intergenerational connections and how modern, digital-first lifestyles can coexist with traditional family celebrations.

The campaign builds on OnePlus India’s community-focused approach, with this year’s initiative centered on bringing different generations together through shared experiences, technology, and festive traditions.

The OnePlus Diwali Festive Sale is also scheduled to begin on 8th October 2026, covering the company’s smartphone and IoT portfolio. OnePlus confirms that the sale begins 8th October, with offers including bank-card benefits, instant discounts, and other promotional benefits.

The 2026 campaign explores the intersection between contemporary youth culture and traditional family practices. Rather than replacing traditional celebrations with digital experiences, the campaign focuses on how technology can bring different generations together during Diwali.

The campaign film was conceptualized by OnePlus India and features Smriti Mandhana, Vice Captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, along with digital content creators Vishnu Kaushal and Govind Kaushal and choreographer and internet personality Nicole Concessao.

The story begins with an elderly couple spending a quiet evening before receiving a high-energy video call from their grandchildren, played by Vishnu and Govind Kaushal.

Smriti Mandhana then joins the celebration and introduces the grandparents to modern festive activities. These include a dance challenge choreographed by Nicole Concessao and captured using the OnePlus 15, along with music streamed through the OnePlus Pad 4.

Traditional elements remain central to the story, with rituals, sweets and diyas continuing alongside the newer digital experiences.

The film concludes with the grandparents gifting members of the family products from the OnePlus ecosystem, including the OnePlus N6, Nord 6, Nord CE6 and Nord Buds.

OnePlus Partners With Marzi for Community Events

OnePlus India is also extending the campaign beyond its digital film through a month-long partnership with Marzi, a community platform for people aged 50 and above, described as Generation Evergreen.

The collaboration is designed to create opportunities for younger and older generations to interact through a range of activities.

The planned events include:

  • Recreational Sports & Games: Pickleball sessions and nostalgic board games
  • Culinary & Social Activities: Pizza-making workshops and daytime coffee raves
  • Cultural Exchanges: Guided music, wellness and conversational forums

Public registrations for these events are scheduled to open through a dedicated microsite after October 10.

OnePlus Diwali Festive Sale Starts 8th October

Alongside the #MakeItSpecial campaign, OnePlus India is preparing its 2026 Diwali Festive Sale across its smartphone and IoT lineup.

The sale will begin on 8th October 2026. According to OnePlus, the festive promotion will include additional bank-card benefits, instant discounts for a limited period, RedCoins redemption offers, and discounts of up to 30% on selected OnePlus Protection Plans.

OnePlus is also offering a Diwali Una Collection with phone purchases for an additional ₹99, starting October 8.

The #MakeItSpecial Diwali 2026 campaign film is now live across major digital platforms, while the community activities with Marzi are scheduled to follow in October.

Commenting on the campaign, Ishita Grover, Director – Marketing at OnePlus India, said, “With #MakeItSpecial, we have always wanted to build deeper connections with the communities we are part of. This year, we are celebrating the idea that festivities have no age limit. Over time, generations have started celebrating in their own ways, often apart from each other. The campaign brings them together, not by asking one to become the other, but by helping each discover how the other celebrates.

Our community has always been at the heart of everything we do at OnePlus. We believe the most memorable moments are the ones where traditions and trends come together, and where technology strengthens human connections rather than replacing them. Ultimately, the festive season is about togetherness, and we hope #MakeItSpecial inspires everyone to celebrate with the people who matter most.”

Commenting on this partnership with OnePlus India, Smriti Mandhana – Vice Captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team said, “Festivals like Diwali are about the people around you, and OnePlus India’s #MakeItSpecial campaign captures that beautifully. It was so much fun to be part of a film that gets generations celebrating together. Partnering on this campaign with OnePlus felt natural because the idea is close to my heart: it’s about the spirit of togetherness and making memories that last.”
