Qualcomm’s new tablet processor promises out-of-the-world mobile graphics

In case, you hadn’t noticed, the tablet war is no longer limited to just devices. It has stretched on to device hardware. Whether it is the manufacturers of screens, processors or even GPU, everyone is in the race to get ahead. Qualcomm might have found just the thing to ace its archenemy NVIDIA in processors – an Adreno 320 GPU that is four times better than any Snapdragon processor till date.

Let us explain in detail. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon and NVIDIA’s Tegra are the most popular processors available for smartphones and tablets. With the coming of new operating systems like Windows 8 and Ice Cream Sandwich OS update, processors need to perform even better. While NVIDIA has already unveiled the Tegra 3 range of processors, fireworks were due from Qualcomm’s side.

Ahoy! The Qualcomm Snapdragon Adreno 320 GPU is optimized to attend to the best and most advanced operating systems. We believe this GPU will also compete with Apple, which is rumored to roll out a full retina display for its iPad 3.

Qualcomm’s range of processors called the Snapdragon S4 Pro is set to hit the market in the second half of 2012.
