Reliance Communications planning to launch 4G services in India next year

While Reliance Jio Infocomm is preparing for the 4G rollout country-wide, Anil Ambani run Reliance Communications also plans to follow suit.

Reliance Communications Chairman, Anil Ambani, revealed to the company shareholders that the company is preparing to launch 4G services in the country by next year. The company intends to bid for spectrum in the next round of auctions to offer services in multiple circles. The company is also awaiting the Government to release 700 MHz and 800 MHz spectrum bands over time from the Defence.

Speaking about the plans, Anil Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Communications, said, “Between 2G, CDMA, GSM and 3G, we are well covered. In 2015-16, we will be participating in the next round of auction and that will enable us to launch 4G services in many circles. That will ensure that our customers have all types of services.”
