S Tel launches its GSM services in Assam

stel-red-logoS Tel, a joint venture between Siva Group and Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco), today announced the launch of its GSM services in Assam starting with 26 key towns including Gaurisagar, Nazira, Golaghat, Numaligarh, Hojai, Doboka, Lumding, Lanka, Diphu, Howraghat, Mangaldoi, Barpeta Road and Bilasipara . The company will shortly be expanding its wings to the remaining cities of Assam and other North East states including Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Arunanchal Pradesh.

S Tel’s Starter Kit is available at Rs. 49. It comes with validity of 30 days. To get per second plan (1p/ sec), you need to get recharge of Rs. 6 with the starter pack. Promotional Offers of S Tel include –  

  • Full Talk Time on all top-up denominations.
  • Rs. 11 SMS Pack, offering 1paisa/ local SMS, valid for 30 days

S Tel claims that it has a dedicated world class customer care centre that offers a swift resolution of customer queries wherein over 90% of customer calls are attended within 10 seconds of the caller opting to speak with the customer care representative. S Tel’s call centre at Kolkata is managed by Tech Mahindra which offers services in dialects of the region such as Assamese. With an aim to eliminate the pain points of the retailer, a unique initiative by S Tel, I-Care program, has been rolled out. Retailers also addressed as platinum customers can talk directly to the customer care agent without having to go through the IVR and can also expect their concerns to be resolved within 30 minutes of initiation of the call.

S Tel customer care in Assam and North East can be reached at 9127012345 from any landline or mobile number. Besides this, S Tel users can access the toll free customer care number 1212.
