True to its tradition, Samsung has finally announced the smaller version of its recent flagship – the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini, with the look and feel of the flagship but with toned downed specs.
Samsung has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini with the design language strikingly similar to the Galaxy S5 including the perforated soft-touch back. Further the handset is available in the same colours which include Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold. The device is expected to support dual SIM as well with 3G and 4G variants.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini pulls in all the fancy features from the Galaxy S5 including the fingerprint scanner, the heart-rate monitor and even the Ultra Power Saving Mode. The handset is also IP67 certified making it dust and water proof up to a depth of up to 1 meter for 30 minutes.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini has a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED HD display and is rather compact making it easy to be used with a single hand. The 4G version of the smartphone is powered by the quad core Snapdragon 400 processor whereas the 3G version has the Exynos 3470. Both the variants have a 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini is equipped with an 8 MP rear facing camera with LED flash. There is also a front facing 2.1 MP camera. The device runs on the latest Android KitKat version with a layer of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. The handset is expected to be released globally later this month at a price tag of $650.
