The Xperia Ion will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and arrive with a 4.55 inch HD Reality Display with Sony’s MOBILE BRAVIA Engine and has been priced at Rs. 36,999.

The smartphone was spotted online on Snapdeal a few days back for Rs. 35,999 and has been available since then. We were awaiting an official confirmation from Sony.

Going by the specification, the Xperia Ion packs in the following features:
  • 4.6 inch TFT HD screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution
  • 1.5 GHz dual core Qualcomm Scorpion processor
  • Adreno 220 GPU
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 13.2 GB internal memory
  • 12 MP rear camera with LED Flash
  • 1.3 MP front facing camera
  • Measures 68 x 133 x 10.6 mm
  • Weighs only 144 grams
  • 1900 mAh powerful battery

At the price of Rs. 36,999 the Xperia Ion it looks to be Sony’s target on Samsung’s Galaxy S III but is it worth the bet?
