We all know Sony announced plans of unveiling a brand new flagship every 6 months and as per the plan, they have just announced the new Sony Xperia Z3 flagship at IFA.
Sony Xperia Z3 features the same OmniBalance design we’ve seen in the company’s previous flagships but with a twist. The device features rounded corners and is now thinner, measuring 7.3 mm. The flagship also has narrower bezels and is more compact than its predecessor. Other than that, there’s the same aluminium frame and tapered glass on the back.
The Xperia Z3 features a 5.2-inch TRILUMINOS IPS display of Full HD (1920x1080p) resolution. Sony claims the display to be the “world’s brightest display of leading premium smartphones”. The device is powered by a higher clocked Snapdragon 801 processor with the Adreno 330 GPU we’re all familiar with. The RAM also remains the same at 3 GB and the device will come in 16 and 32 GB versions with microSD support.
The camera on the flagship is the same 20.7 MP camera but with an improved wider G Lens. There are newer features like Face in (lets you shoot two videos), AR Fun, Sound photo and more. The Xperia Z3 comes with Android 4.4 KitKat and Sony’s custom interface. The Sony Xperia Z3 is also the first smartphone to come with the PS4 remote play, which lets you play PS4 games from the device. The connectivity is well covered like any other flagship with NFC, Cat 4 LTE thrown in for good measure.
The IP rating has also been improved. The Sony Xperia Z3 comes with IP68 and IP65 certified, so the device is even more resistant to water and dust. The device is powered by a 3100 mAh embedded battery, which is a slightly lesser than the Z2.
The Sony Xperia Z3 will come in White, Black, Copper, and Silver Green color variants. Sony hasn’t revealed the price yet and we can expect the device to start rolling out to stores in a month or two.
