Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on GoogleSpotify has announced a series of new features designed to improve podcast discovery, playlist organization, queue management, and offline listening across its platform. The latest update introduces podcast Clips, mobile playlist folders, bulk playlist editing tools, improved queue controls for Premium users, background downloads on iOS, and a new reshuffle button.

Spotify 2026

One of the biggest additions is Podcast Clips, a feature that allows listeners to capture and share specific moments from podcast episodes. Users can create clips directly from the Now Playing screen by tapping the scissors icon, selecting the desired segment, and then saving or sharing it. Spotify has also expanded podcast sharing options, allowing users to share full episodes, individual chapters, timestamps, or podcast Clips through Spotify Messages and other supported platforms. Saved clips are automatically stored in the Library section and can be added to playlists for quick access later.

Spotify is also bringing Playlist Folders to mobile devices after previously limiting the feature to desktop users. The update allows users to organize playlists directly from their smartphones by grouping them into folders based on moods, activities, genres, or personal preferences, making large music collections easier to manage.

For users who frequently edit playlists, Spotify has introduced new bulk editing tools that allow multiple songs, podcast episodes, or audiobooks to be selected and managed simultaneously. The feature reduces the need for repetitive actions when reorganizing content and streamlines playlist management.

Premium subscribers are also receiving enhanced queue controls. Users can once again select and manage multiple tracks within the queue at the same time, providing greater flexibility when arranging upcoming playback sessions.

Offline listening on iOS is getting a significant improvement through Background Downloads. Music and podcast downloads can now continue even when the Spotify app is closed or running in the background. Users will receive notifications showing download progress, helping ensure content is ready before flights, commutes, or travel through areas with limited connectivity.

Spotify is additionally introducing a new Reshuffle button for Premium subscribers. Rather than manually disabling and re-enabling shuffle mode, users can instantly generate a fresh playback order for any playlist with a single tap, making it easier to rediscover favorite tracks and change listening patterns.

According to Spotify, podcast chapters introduced earlier this year are already being saved and added to playlists more than two million times per month, while early testing showed increased podcast engagement when Clips were enabled.
