Vodafone Idea (Vi) has announced the restoration of its mobile network services across a major section of Mumbai Metro’s Aqua Line 3, re-establishing connectivity across 16 stations between Aarey JVLR and Acharya Atre Chowk. The move ensures uninterrupted voice and data services for commuters traveling across one of Mumbai’s busiest underground metro corridors.

The restoration follows a temporary service disruption caused by unresolved operational issues between the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) and ACES Infrastructure. With those matters now resolved, Vi’s network infrastructure is once again fully operational across stations, platforms, concourses, and underground transit sections of the metro line.
Connectivity Restored Across Key Mumbai Locations
The restored network coverage spans several high-footfall business, residential, and transportation hubs across Mumbai.
The 16 stations currently covered include:
- Aarey JVLR
- SEEPZ
- MIDC Andheri
- Marol Naka
- CSMI Airport Terminal 2
- Sahar Road
- CSMI Airport Terminal 1
- Santacruz
- Bandra Colony
- Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC)
- Dharavi
- Shitla Devi Mandir
- Dadar
- Siddhivinayak
- Worli
- Acharya Atre Chowk
With connectivity restored, Vi subscribers can access voice calling, mobile internet, OTT streaming services, digital payments, navigation applications, and business communication tools throughout their metro journey.
Supporting Mumbai’s Growing Metro Network
Mumbai Metro Aqua Line 3 serves as one of the city’s most important transit corridors, carrying more than 1.5 lakh passengers daily while operating over 290 trips every day.
The restoration of network services is expected to significantly enhance the commuter experience, particularly for passengers relying on mobile connectivity for work, payments, communication, and entertainment during transit.
Vi Preparing for Phase 2 Expansion
Vodafone Idea has also confirmed that work is underway to extend network coverage across Phase 2 of Mumbai Metro Aqua Line 3.
The next phase will cover 11 additional stations stretching from Science Centre Metro Station to Cuffe Parade, further expanding underground mobile connectivity across South Mumbai.
According to the company, deployment activities are currently in progress, and services across the remaining section of the route are expected to be rolled out in the coming weeks.
Speaking on the development, Jagbir Singh, Chief Technology Officer, Vodafone Idea, commented, “Reliable connectivity is an essential part of everyone’s daily commute. We are very pleased that our service is available on Aqua Line Phase 1 of the Mumbai Metro network, Phase 2 will go live soon. This deployment reflects our continued commitment to strengthening network availability across key customer touchpoints, and delivering a seamless connectivity experience in high-density urban environments.”
