After five months from its release, Android Oreo is finally running on more than 1% of devices

In the first week of every month, Internet search giant Google releases the latest Android distribution number which provides us with information pertaining to the distribution of different versions of Android in the market. Well, like every month, Google has released the Android distribution numbers for February as well. Let’s take a look at these numbers and see which Android versions have gained more share and which ones have dropped down the ladder.

Until last month, Android Marshmallow topped the Android distribution chart with a share of 28.6% which has dropped down to 28.1% this month. And, replacing Marshmallow is Android Nougat which rises from 26.3% from last month to 28.5% this month. With a total share of 28.5%, Android Nougat currently has the maximum share in Android distribution.

That said, Android Oreo, which is the latest version of Android, has also jumped up by 0.4% from last month, and hence, after more than five months from its release, it is finally running on more than 1% of devices. Well, 1.1% to be precise.

Except Android Nougat and Android Oreo, the distribution shares of all other versions of Android have dipped from last month.

Simply put, Android Nougat now tops the Android distribution chart with a total share of 28.5% which is followed by Android Marshmallow with 28.1%, Android Lollipop with 24.6%, Android KitKat with 12%, Android Jelly Bean with 5%,  Android Oreo with 1.1%, Android Ice Cream Sandwich with 0.4%, and, Android Gingerbread with 0.3%.

Those Android versions that have a share of less than 0.1% haven’t been included in this distribution chart.
