Last week, a leaked firmware of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S revealed that the phone would be powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC while running Android 8.0 Oreo. The firmware also revealed that this bezel-less smartphone would come packed with a 3400 mAh battery. Well now, firmware of yet another Xiaomi smartphone has leaked, and, it’s none other than the Mi Max 3.

The folks over at XDA Developers got hold of a firmware of Xiaomi Mi Max 3, and, while digging through the firmware, they did come across some interesting information. The firmware revealed that the Mi Max 3 will be powered by Snapdragon 660 SoC, however, past reports suggest there could be a Snapdragon 630 variant as well, but there were no references to the latter in the firmware.

Moreover, the firmware also revealed that the Mi Max 3 supports wireless charging and would come with iris recognition. Other tidbits of information revealed through the firmware include a display with 18:9 aspect ratio, 5500 mAh battery, Android 8.1 Oreo, support for dual SIM and dual SD cards, IR blaster, LED notification light, Dirac audio, aptX and aptX HD Bluetooth audio codecs, and, possibly dual speakers.

Having said that, for photography, the Mi Max 3 will have either Sony’s IMX363 camera sensor, or, Samsung’s S5K217 + S5K5E8 sensors (yes, that’s dual camera setup) at the back. On the front, there will be a single Samsung S5K4H7 sensor.

There’s no word from Xiaomi regarding the launch of the Mi Max 3, but, we might see this Chinese smartphone brand launching it at Mobile World Congress (MWC) next week.
