MapmyIndia announced the launch of the Explore app on the Windows Phone platform. The app can be used to locate useful places of interest like ATMs, restaurants, petrol pumps, hospitals. The app allows users to go more social and pin favourite hangouts, rate and review popular places around their location. The app also lets you follow other Explorers and shows what the others are doing in the activity feed.

The Explore app for the Windows Phone 8 devices has a responsive and pleasant user interface. The seamless integration with Facebook helps to use Explore app with friends with more ease. The app would soon be available on the Android platform also. You can download the Explore app on the Windows Phone Store.

Speaking about the new MapmyIndia app, Rakesh Verma, Managing Director, MapmyIndia, said, “The Explore app further reinforces our commitment to bring to the users apps that are helpful as well as fun to have. It is a culmination of an exciting partnership between MapmyIndia and Microsoft. This social-navigation app is the third in the series of apps we have launched for the Windows 8 platform. The Locate app and Real-time traffic on MapmyIndia maps have generated an overwhelming user response on both Windows and Android platforms. We will soon make ‘Explore’ available to Android users.”
