MTV Slate with 3G calling launched in India for Rs.14,999

Swipe Telecom and MTV have today announced the launch of the MTV Slate which according to the company is India’s first 3G calling tablet with a 7.85 inch IPS Display. The MTV Slate has a display resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.

The tablet is powered by an A7 1.2 GHz quad-core processor which is coupled with 1 GB of DDR3 RAM. The internal storage on the MTV Slate is pegged at 8 GB which will further be expandable using a microSD card up to 32 GB, so users do not have to worry about the carrying a lot of data. The tablet is powered on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS which is great. The company has included a 5 megapixel camera on the rear of the MTV Slate and there is a VGA front facing camera for video chats.

Connectivity wise, Swipe has included 2G, 3G Data calling, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack. There is a powerful 3600 mAh Li-Po battery to keep the tablet running all day long. Priced at Rs.14,999 (MRP), the MTV Slate is now available for buyers from the Swipe E-Store and other online retailers like Flipkart, Snapdeal and other for Rs.13,999 (MOP).

An MTV branded Flip Cover has been bundled with the device which also acts as a stand making it easy to use the tablet. The tablet can be updated to Android 4.3 and the update will roll out sometime in January 2014 as per the company.
