After much await, the new Samsung flagship is finally here. The South Korean giant has just launched the Galaxy S6 and the curved display version is also here in the form of S6 Edge.

While the new Samsung flagships look familiar, they feel different, thanks to the usage of metal and glass in abundance. Both the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge pack in metal frames and a glass back, which brings the much needed premium feel to Samsung flagships, something we have missed in the past. The new home button doubles up as the fingerprint scanner and you don’t need to swipe anymore.

The S6 duo come with a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display of Quad HD (2560x1440p) resolution. The S6 Edge features curves on the both the sides of the display and the curve isn’t as prominent as in the Galaxy Note Edge. Both the devices pack in Gorilla Glass 4, which should mean scratches won’t make it too easily.

As rumored, Samsung has ditched the Snapdragon 810 (probably due to heating issues) for its very own 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 chipset, which having built with the 14 nm process should be better at managing power. The device comes with the latest 3 GB LPDDR4 RAM. Both the devices will come in 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB storage options and there is a microSD slot for expansion. The internal storage is of UFS 2.0 type, which means better processing and faster execution.

On the camera front, the Galaxy S6 duo comes with 16 MP ISOCELL cameras with OIS, phase detection autofocus, 4K recording and LED flash. There’s a 5 MP selfie camera on the front. There’s a refined TouchWiz on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop. The new TouchWiz comes with Material Design and brings a number of new features, especially for the S6 Edge.

The Galaxy S6 packs in 2550 mAh battery while the S6 Edge features a 2600 mAh battery. As expected with the flagships, the connectivity is more than covered wit LTE Cat.6 support, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, Beiduo and IR blaster.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will come in a number of color options including Charcoal Black, Copper Gold, Electric Blue, and Shimmery White. Samsung hasn’t revealed the pricing yet.
