Acer has launched a new Android handset in the UK market called the Acre Liquid Express. The handset is the company’s first ever NFC enabled handset and packs in some decent specifications.

The Liquid Express has a 3.5-inch display with 262k colors and 320×480 pixel resolution, an 800 MHz Qualcomm 7227 processor, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included) and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Acer’s custom user interface onboard. The new smartphone is available across UK through several operators.

Acer hasn’t been impressive in the smartphone market, though it has been quite active in the tablet market thanks to its ICONIA range of tablets. The company recently launched the Acer Allegro announcing its commitment towards Windows Phone OS but has been lagging behind in the Android segment.
