While Apple has been continuously taunted for just merely increasing its screen size, the company is apparently working on a smaller iPhone as well.

According to renowned analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities, who is known to have an excellent track record when it comes to Apple, the company is set to unveil a 4 inch iPhone during the second half of 2016, probably with the iPhone 7. While it is still not known if the 4 inch handset would be dubbed as the iPhone 7c, it definitely wouldn’t be made of plastic like the disappointing iPhone 5c.

The analyst suggests that the 4 inch iPhone would sport a metal unibody with a premium design, thus avoiding the cheap feel. However, the handset is said to be powered by the current Apple A9 processor, which would be one generation behind when the new iPhone uses the A10 chipset. Despite all this, the handset would still be promoted as a budget iPhone offering.
