LG has announced its new LG X series with the LG X Cam and the LG X Screen ahead of the upcoming MWC 2016. The company claims that the LG X series is designed for customers who do not want or need all the bells and whistles that come with today’s high-end phones. Both the handsets are expected to be officially introduced at the Mobile World Congress 2016 Expo on February 22.

The LG X Cam boasts of a dual rear camera setup with 13 MP and 5 MP sensors at the back which promises one of the most advanced camera experience in a mass-tier smartphone. The device has a 5.2 inch IPS display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.1 GHz octa core processor with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. There is also a front facing 8 MP camera.

The LG X Screen, on the other hand, flaunts a 1.76 inch ‘Always-on’ secondary display which would allow users to easily access frequently used apps, answer calls without interrupting the current activity or just play music. The handset has a 4.93 inch HD primary display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage.

Speaking about the new LG X Series, Juno Cho, president and CEO, LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said, “Everyone has a favourite smartphone feature. At LG, we think there’s room for devices that do one thing very well and that customers shouldn’t have to pay for features that they don’t want. At the end of the day, we’re committed to offering consumers more choices.”
