And again! We do know that Android OS is prone to Malware and the newest of them doing the rounds is a Trojan Horse. We also know that these malwares disguise themselves as a legit app and the same is hapeening in this case. The new virus identified as Andr/KongFu-L is disguising itself as the popular Angry Birds Space game for Android.

Angry-Birds-Android-Trojan-Horse

The Trojan Horse has been detected by Sophos and it is spreading through unofficial Android stores that supply Android apps.

The Andr/KongFu-L initially appears to be a fully-functional version of the popular Angry Birds Space game, but it later it goes on to use the GingerBreak exploit to gain root access to the device, and install malicious code. Once the malicious code is installed, the Trojan communicates with a remote website and goes on to download and install more malware over the device.

Once the malware is installed, criminals can easily go on to send instructions to the device to visit some URLs from the default browser of the device and go on to take advantage of this.

Now you would ask us as to how can you stay safe from such a kind of Trojan? Well the answer is quite simple. Just DO NOT download any app from unknown and sources you don’t trust. And yeah also have a nice Anti-Virus app running so that it could scan any negative happenings on your devices.
