While the Google Hangouts app wasn’t quite successful, Google has now launched the Duo app for better video calling.
Google has announced the launch of the Duo app for video calling. The stand-alone mobile-only app offers one-to-one high quality video calling with an easy and smooth interface. Interestingly, the app is said to work well even on slow connections. However, users can also optimize the quality based on their network connection.
However, the coolest feature of the Duo app is the Knock Knock feature which provides a personalised preview of the caller before you even pick up the video call, thus giving a better context for the call. With the focus on security, all calls placed over Duo are encrypted end-to-end. The app is expected to be released later this year.
