With Xiaomi claiming to receive positive response for its 6.44 inch display smartphone, Samsung seems to be looking to compete in the segment.
According to popular tipster @evleaks, Samsung is working on a new smartphone in the affordable Galaxy J series. Interestingly, the smartphone would be called as Galaxy J Max. And if you already haven’t imagined a big display given the name, it will sport a huge display and a really big one at that – 7 inches if the reports are to be believed.
While Samsung was the first to venture into the phablet category, like Hugo Barra said at the launch of the Mi Max, there is hardly any competition in the segment above 6 inches. As such Samsung trying its luck at a big-sized smartphone is definitely not surprising. But a 7 inch smartphone may be going a little too far.
